LA Times Book Fest This Weekend

April 24, 2009

It may surprise the multitudes who write off Angelenos as image-obsessed and none too bright to discover that the country’s largest book festival is held right here. It’s the LA Times Festival of Books, and it’s being held tomorrow and Sunday (April 25th and 26th) all throughout the UCLA campus. Headlining the event are authors Gustavo Arellano, David Baldacci, T.C. Boyle, Mary Higgins Clark, Giada DeLaurentiis, and Steve Lopez, along with other celebrities such as Bob Barker, Alonzo Mourning, Brooke Shields, Tori Spelling, Henry Winkler, and many many more! The event is free, but a few of the speeches require tickets to enter. In addition, the LA Times will announce its annual book awards tonight at 8PM at a private ceremony downtown. So for those of you looking to get lit this weekend (literature, that is), book it over to the LA Times book fest.
